JOBDESCRIPTIONJOBTITLE:Safety,Health&EnvironmentAdvisorREPORTSTO:Safety,Health&EnvironmentManagerLOCATION:TheCompany’sconstructionsitesthroughouttheUK(primarilygreaterLondonarea)SUMMARYOFROLETheSafety,HealthandEnvironmentAdvisorisprimarilyresponsibleforco-ordinatingandimplementingthesafety,healthandenvironmentaspectsoftheCompany’sintegratedmanagementsystem.Thepostholderwillalsoassistinternallywiththeprovisionofsafety,healthandenvironmentaladviceandguidance.DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES•Promoteapositivehealthandsafetyculturethroughoutthecompanyandsupplychain.ContributetotheCompany’sSHEcommitmentsinthehighlightingandpromotingbestpractice.•EnsureConstructionHealth&SafetyPlansareinplacepriortothecommencementoftheproject.•Monitorandreviewregularsiteperformancethroughweeklyinspectionsandaudits,includingassessmentofallRiskAssessmentsandMethodStatementsensuringCompanypoliciesandproceduresareimplementedappropriately.Recordinganyfindings,highlightinganyareasforimprovementaswellasanyrequiredmodificationtoexistingpoliciesorprocedures.•Assistandparticipateinthehighlightingofhealth-relatedrisksandtrainingonsite,reviewingallhighriskoperationsonsite.•Agreeremedialactionwithsitemanagementonanynon-conformanceandcarryoutfollowupreviewtoensuretheappropriateimplementationhastakenplace.•EnsureC.O.S.H.H.Registersaremaintainedonsite.•AdviseandwhenrequestedassisttheSiteManagementTeamswithbestpracticeintheimplementationoftheConsiderateConstructorsScheme.•Assistmonthlyhealthandsafetymeetings(projectspecific).•Assistandparticipateinthedeliveryofsafety,healthandenvironmenttoolboxtalksandbespoketrainingonsite.•EnsurefullimplementationoftheCompany’sAccidentReportingProcedure.•LiaisewiththeHSEandrepresenttheCompanyatrelevantexternalforums.•Ensuretheimplicationsofchangesinlegislationandenvironmental,safetymanagementtechniquesarecommunicatedandimplementedthroughouttheCompanyandSupplyChain.•Participateinpre-tendersubmissionsandinterviewsasrequired.•Collateassignedproject‘EndofContractEnvironmental,Health&SafetyFiles’.•LiaisewiththeSafety,HealthandEnvironmentalmanageronAnnualPolicyandManagementSystemreview.•Fulfiltheroleofmentorasandwhenrequired.•MaintainrelevantqualityandenvironmentalcontrolproceduresinaccordancewiththeCompany’sIntegratedManagementSystem.•ContinuallydevelopknowledgeofhealthandsafetytoenhancethebusinessandfulfilcompanyCPDrequirements.•Undertakealltraininganddevelopmentactivitiesasrequired.•AttendIndustrydinners,functions,seminarsetc.,asrequiredonbehalfoftheCompany.•ContributetotheCompany’sCorporateSocialResponsibilityinitiatives.Theabovelistisnotexhaustiveandthepostholdermayberequiredtotakeonotherdutiesandresponsibilitiesfortheeffectiveandefficientperformanceofthisrole.
