AccidentPreventionSignsTheOccupationalSafetyandHealthAdministration(OSHA1910.145)SpecificationforAccidentPreventionSignsrequiresUNCWtotrainallemployeesinthewordingandcolorcodingofhazardsignstheymayencounter.Safetysignsareusedtoindicateanddefinespecifichazardsthatwithoutidentificationmayleadtoaccidentalinjurytoworkersand/orthepublicortopropertydamage.TheCautionSignindicatedapotentiallyhazardoussituation,ahazardcapableofresultinginseverebutnotirreversibleinjuryordamage.TheNoticeSignprovidesinformationofageneraltypeinordertoavoidconfusionandmisunderstanding.TheSafetySignincludesnoticesofgeneralpracticeandrulesrelatingtohealth,firstaid,medicalequipment,sanitation,housekeepingandgeneralsafety.TheWarningSignindicatesapotentiallyhazardoussituation,which,ifnotavoided,couldresultindeathorseriousinjury.TheDangerSignindicatesanimmediatehazard,ahazardcapableofproducingirreversibledamageorinjury.Othersignsoncampusthatyoumayencountermayincludethefollowingsymbols.Donotentertheseareasunlessyouaretrainedintheirspecifichazards.BiohazardousMaterialsRadioactiveMaterials
